*FATHER'S DAY: HISTORY, FACTS & LESSONS- COUNSELOR FENYI*
Speaking to Radio Ahanta 88.9FM on last Thursday morning, renowned Educationist and Counselor, Mr. Daniel Fenyi has bared all the facts, history and lessons of the Father's Day.
According to Counselor Daniel Fenyi, Father's Day was introduced by Grace Golden Clayton and the first Father's Day was celebrated on Sunday, July 5, 1908 at Williams Memorial Episcopal Church, USA. The celebration was in memory of the death of 361 men who died in December 1907 through a mining disaster of which 250 were Fathers.
Counselor Fenyi continued that the euphoria around Father's Day died down over time. But later on, Sonora Smart Dodd brought back the Father's Day concept on Sunday, June 19, 1910 in honour of her Father, William Jackson Smart. Her father, who lost his wife while she was delivering their sixth (6th) born, raised them up as a single parent.
Mr. Daniel Fenyi emphasised that Father's Day is celebrated on every 3rd Sunday of the month of June and thus this year's falls on Sunday, 17th June, 2018.
Speaking on why the Father's Day is often low-key as compared to Mother's Day, Counselor Fenyi argued that men are naturally not loud people and don't fancy celebrations as well.
Mr. Daniel Fenyi advised young and prospective Fathers to make sure they are fully prepared financially, emotionally and psychologically before they think of giving birth.
All Fathers- Biological fathers, Step-fathers, Spiritual fathers and God-fathers were wished a Happy Father's Day in Advance.
