On Double-Track System: Green Track Students are Reporting Today

*Some Expected Duties of Educational Stakeholders- MR. DANIEL FENYI (EDUCATIONIST)*

Double-track system starts across about 400 public Senior High Schools on Monday, 10th Sept., 2018. The students are put into two groups, Green and Gold. The Green group are reporting at school while the Gold group will report on Thursday, 8th November, 2018.

Respected Educationist/ Counsellor, Mr. Daniel Fenyi, educates all stakeholders on some roles to play to make the programme successful. These roles are elaborated below:

*✳ HEADMASTERS/TEACHERS*
▪You are primary implementers of this new policy.
▪Must report to school very early in the morning.
▪Must prepare scheme of work or lesson plan for the term.
▪Must dress decently, trim hair and keep fingernails neat.
▪ Must prepare adequately for each class, read widely around topics, use the internet to search for information, etc.
▪Must not make or receive calls while class is in session.
▪Must be approachable and be ready to explain complex concepts to parents and students.
▪Teach with passion and encourage students often, especially the weak ones.
▪Should not have sex or sexually harrass students.

*✳ PARENTS*
▪Work closely with the teachers, and avoid unnecessary interferences.
▪Must constantly check on the academic progress of the ward.
▪Must partake in all PTA meetings of the school.
▪Should get the contact of at least 2 or more teachers and call ocassionally to be updated.
▪Must buy books and other academically relevant materials for kids (some may be recommended by the Headmaster/teachers).
▪Must assure your kids of constant love and support.
▪Must keep praying for your kids- many "dark" things happen in our schools so parents should cover their wards prayerfully.

*✳ STUDENTS*
▪The student is the recipient of this policy.
▪Must be punctual in class.
▪Must do all class exercises, project/assignment given them by teachers.
▪Avoid bad company/friends and focus on your books.
▪Avoid boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. It'll distract you and might lead to your failure in exams.
▪Avoid sharing things like toothbrush, sponge, soap, spoon and shoe with friends.
▪Attend church/ morning devotions regularly.

*✳ POLITICIANS/G.E.S*
▪Pay arrears of teachers.
▪Post trainee teachers so that teachers with various degrees teaching in Basic Schools can climb to SHS level.
▪Educate teachers and parents on any new policy.
▪Provide enough teaching and learning materials/facilities.
▪Teacher promotion must be done regularly and on merit.
▪Leave your offices and regularly visit schools to know what pertains on the working field.
▪Organise enough workshop and upgrading programmes for teachers.
▪Don't witch-hunt teachers. Allow them to work in their right frame of mind.
