Kwame Nkrumah

On this day 31st December 1957,Dr.Kwame Nkrumah married an Egyptian lady called Fathia Halim Ritzk  at a colourful ceremony at the Christianborg Castle in Accra.But before marrying Fathia,Dr.Kwame Nkrumah had given birth with his former girlfriend called Fanny Mitler who gave birth to his first son in 1932 before he left the then Gold Coast in 1935 to study in the USA and came back in 1947 spending  twelve years abroad.The name of his son he gave birth in 1932 is  called Professor Francis Nkrumah who was the Director of Noguchi Memorial Institute at the University of Ghana.Dr.Kwame Nkrumah had three children with  Fathia namely,Gamel Nkrumah who is a Journalist  currently based in Egypt  born in 1959,he is named after former Egypt President called Gamel Abdul Nasser.  Samia Yaba Nkrumah born in 1960 who study Arabic at the University.Sekou Nkrumah who is also named after former Guinea President called Sekou Toure who was Dr.Kwame Nkrumah friend.if we would remember when he was overthrown in Ghana he was made a Co-President to Sekou Toure in Guinea.Fathia was born in the year 1932 and Dr.Kwame Nkrumah son with his first girlfriend was also born in 1932.
