Fact is, enrolment in Senior High School in 2010/11 increased from 479,296 to 663,500 (184,204 gap), a 38% increment when we had the 4-year school system and today, we have an estimated gap of 181,993, a 30% increase in enrolment and we want to destroy the education system under the guise of double-track system?

WASSCE 2018 result shows only 38% passed Mathematics. This means, for every 100 BECE student posted to SHS in 2015, 62 have to rewrite WASSCE (Maths). Why then do you remove cut-off grading in BECE and do mass posting only for 62/100 to fail and rewrite.

Double-track, we are told, will take place for 5 - 7 years and we'll come back to the single system. Really? If it's good enough, why not a permanent system? Well, average of 500,000 for 7 years is 3.5million. Do we really understand what it means to "under-educate" 3.5 million of our population?

Are we pursuing quality or quantity education? We seem to want quality, but every idea and plan we put up enforces quantity. Is this politicization or lack of common sense? It's dumb-founding.

Under double-track, will both tracks write same WASSCE? If yes, it means one of the tracks have to compromise on its duration. Will teachers indeed stay home for 4 months in each year and be paid? Infact, there are too many questions to be answered.

You said English and Maths classes will be held on Saturdays for students. Did you discuss this with the students and did they agree on the Saturday? What about the English and Maths teachers, have they agreed?

The method by which an idea is rolled-out is as important as the idea itself. H.E Akufo-Addo, Free SHS was your flagship promise in both 2008 and 2012 but you still lost the elections, I'm reminding you that Ghanaians are not over-excited about this Free thing. Don't destroy the education system in the name of FREE, Ghanaian voters are wiser now, Sir!

NPP, Don't deceive yourself into thinking you are the embodiment of all knowedge. I have supported many of your ideas and policies but I think you got this one wrong. It looks much of a MISCALCULATED OVERNIGHT IDEA!
