Ghana "Smells" of War: Guns Have Become too Common- Counsellor Daniel Fenyi

Violence is gradually becoming a common language in the country's body politics. People are not able to maturely handle disagreements anymore but rather resort to violent acts in driving home their arguments.

It is rather disheartening that dangerous ammunition like guns have also become very common in the country. A lot of untrained people wield guns and use it for irresponsible acts and go unpunished.

Armed robbers, vigilante groups and other unaccredited security groups have guns in their possession which calls for a serious national discussion. If this is not checked, it can escalate into some sort of war.

Our security agencies must sit up and license all guns in the country and strictly supervise the use of these licensed guns. Anybody or group found with gun must be "forced" to reveal his source so that they can be dealt with.
