*The Royal Wedding: An African Slave Joins the British Royal Family*
By: Counselor FENYI

Queen Elizabeth's grandson and son of the late Lady Diana, Henry Charles Albert David (familiarly known as Prince Harry) married Meghan Markle (Afro-American) on Saturday, May 19, 2018.

Prince Harry and Meghan first met in July 2016 on a blind date. They were hooked up by Harry's friend Violet von Westenholz. Prince is 34 years old and Meghan is 36years (will be 37 in August). Merghan is a divorcee. She first married at 30 and got divorced at 32.

With the over 200,000 people who attended the wedding, only 1 person was a relative of Meghan, i.e. her mother. No other family member of the bride went. Her father went through heart surgery three days to the wedding. Don't forget, Meghan is not on good terms with her dad. She's quoted as saying, “We aren’t on the best of terms.” Her dad divorced her mum when Meghan was 6-years old and she's lived all her life with her mother. Her mother is descended from African Americans enslaved in Georgia.

Meghan's own step-brother, Thomas Markle Jnr., warned Prince Harry in a letter that marrying Meghan would be "the biggest mistake in royal wedding history". Her step-sister, Samantha Markle, described her in interviews as a "shallow social climber". Yes! That's her family.

Meghan becomes the first African to join the highly "racial" royal family. She's now the Duchess of Sussex and her official title is _Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex._

On a light note, two ex-girlfriends of Prince Harry, Davy and Bonas attended the royal wedding.

*The Lessons:*
1. You don't need family to succeed. Life has no standard formular, don't box your destiny into some formular. Always move on, whether family supports you or not.

2. You always need that one friend. Don't be exclusive, make a friend. You don't need many friends, one is always enough.

3. Don't rush into marriage. Your age is advancing but it can't deny you of meeting your true love. Well, at 45, Gifty Anti joined a royal family here in Ghana.

4. You don't need to change to suit people's opinions. That attitude someone criticised you about can make you join a royal family. Keep improving on your attitude but don't change just because someone thinks you've a bad attitude.

5. Those girls who don't reply messages and accept friend requests from strangers, calm down. The journey to the royal family can begin from a blind date. Be humble but careful.

Thank you.
