WHEN DEATH MEETS YOU AT THE GYM: THE FALLACY OF LIFE

*The Case of the Late H.E Paa Kwesi Amissah Arthur*

Many greats like Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Buddha, Horace, Confucius, Longinus, among others have essayed to put some meaning to life but still, life continues to prove meaningless. The American thinker, Elbert Hubbard (1859-1915), couldn't have put it any better when he said, *"do not take life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive."*

I wonder why God, in his infinite wisdom, made us know how the entrance into this dark world is but never told us how we shall exit. I have seen great Men of God die through same ailments they, through God, healed people of; Kenneth Hagin (heart disease), John Lake (stroke), Kathryn Kuhlman (heart disease), Bishop Eddie Long (cancer)

I have also seen Presidents of nations die like chicken; Warren G. Harding, USA (heart attack), Evans Atta Mills, Ghana (supposedly stroke), Sani Abacha, Nigeria (heart attack), Amissah Arthur, Ghana (collapse)

In fact, many doctors and other health practitioners have recommended several ways of living a good and healthy life and a prominent of such recommendations is *exercise.* And one of the places to exercise the body is the *gym.* But what happens when *death* meets you at the *gym?*

Yes, that was the fate of the erstwhile 2nd most powerful man in Ghana, Amissah Arthur, who collapsed at a gym on June 29, 2018 only to be later reported dead. Awww!

Indeed, *life has no formula nor meaning.* Man is born today and the next day, he is history. Many possessed enormous wealth but are no more, others wielded power and authority, many others also rose to enviable fame but where are they now? Six feet, Yes, 6 feet!

Well, the value of human life cannot be quantified by ones wealth, fame, power, connections, academic pedigree and profession. In fact, *life can end anywhere, anyhow and anytime.* Very unpredictable!!!

Learn to be humble, make impact in your field, smile more, serve God and never despise those beneath you because we may not be classmates, age mates or work mates but we definitely are all *6 Ft mates!*
